The human spirit converges with the majesty of the natural world creating incredible stories of adventure and discovery. Destination Unknown Film Festival is an exclusive program of independent adventure and conservation films. We tour the world sharing these stories with small local audiences.
Join us for an evening overflowing with inspiration and wonder. The films come from all corners of the world, from surfing in the arctic, to fighting for endangered species in the gulf of Mexico.. They showcase activists, adventures and philosophers against a backdrop of jaw dropping landscapes. The Bergen program consists of 6 short films selected as finalists in our main festival, held in Voss earlier this year.
All films are unrated and in English or subtitled in English, the total run time is 87minutes. Ticket prices are kr. 120,-.

The Pinnacle of Rush

Swiss athlete Ueli Kestenholz has achieved everything as a competitive athlete. As a snowboarder he was an Olympic medal winner, world champion and X-Games winner. Now he follows his passion, freeriding, in a very special way. With a speed paraglider and skis, he tackles mountains and lines that would be impossible to ski without a glider. With his extraordinary determination he has mastered speedriding at the highest level.
The Pinnacle of Rush illustrates the peculiarities of this young sport and shows the tension and precision that Ueli Kestenholz shows when speedriding.

A Corner of the Earth

A Corner of the Earth is a cinematic exploration of surfing in the brutal northern winter featuring aspiring professional surfer Fraser Dovell who is struggling with the harsh realities of competitive surfing. Along with filmmaker Spencer Frost and photographer Guy Williment, Fraser throws himself out of his comfort zone to embark on an adventure of a lifetime. The trio journey to a far Corner of the Earth to search for waves in the wildly beautiful and treacherous solitude of the arctic. Battling extremes of weather and close encounters with the majesty of nature, Fraser comes to a new appreciation of what it means to be a surfer.
